EASY WAY TO DE-STRESS
Sometimes in life, we need to take a break to relax and rejuvenate our mind, body and soul. This, in return will increase our productivity and we will be full of new ideas and fresh energy to tackle all the hurdles and move forward.
Here is list of few things you can do to relax and de-stress yourself
Laugh a Little
Since our childhood, we know that laughter is the best medicine. A good laugh enhances oxygen and blood circulation, and with extra oxygen going to our brain, it will release endorphins which helps in reducing the stress. Laughing also reduces the levels of stress causing hormones like cortisol, dopamine, and epinephrine. It is like filling two needs with one deed.
Look at a funny photo, or video or even look at a thing that you find funny. If you don’t find something funny, then force a laughter. Start practicing force laughter every morning so that at the time of stress you laugh automatically.
Read Positive Messages
At any point of time any negative thought comes to your mind, it is very important to counter it with some positive thoughts. Start writing positive thoughts like “I can do it”, “I will make it through”, “I am the best at (anything you are working on)”. Start reading positive and motivational quotes and messages to boost up yourself.
Deep breathing and Meditation
Breathing is the key to calmness;any situation can be controlled with a controlled breathing. And this is the reason one should always perform deep breathing when he/she is angry. Breathing supplies more oxygen to the brain which helps our brain release endorphins (chemicals that helps to release pain and stress).
Meditating for 10-15 minutes is a good way to de-stress yourself. If someone has never meditated and finds it difficult to stay still and empty the mind, then a simple trick is, concentrate on your breathing, and nothing else. A 10-15 minute of meditation is one of the best stress relief exercises.
Listen to Music
Music has a unique link to our emotions, and it is an extremely effective stress management tool. Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our mind and body that can relieve depression and increase self-esteem. Music therapy has the ability to relax our mind which significantly reduces emotional distress and boosts quality of life.
At times if someone feels more anxious when they are indoor, one can always opt for outdoor activities and get close to the Mother Nature. Being closer to the nature helps in reducing the stress and boost energy levels. A 15-minute walk outdoors, near greenery can be really rejuvenating. One can also take up little gardening at a time, a few plants or flowers will fill you with great upliftment. Petting animals also helps calming a person down. It not only controls the heart rate but also releases endorphins. Going for a picnic or attending any event like concert or festival with friends/family goes a long way when it comes to stress relief. Let loose, and dance to make yourself a little happier.
The combination of being outdoors and getting your blood flowing all help to make you a HAPPIER YOU!
